 Mar y Monte is an ideal accommodation for walkers and hikers who are exploring the island and prefer to stay less than a full week. The pension is ideal for people seeking rest and comfort during their holiday on La Palma.

We offer 5 rooms, 2 bathrooms and a patio with kitchen for our guests, a large roof-terrace and own parking space.
We serve an extensive breakfast and there are shops and restaurants just around the corner.
 
Prices include bed and breakfast. Single or double rooms. Pension Mar y Monte is ideal for people travelling alone.Prices from January 2007:
Single-person room 35 Euro per night, including breakfast

The walled garden offers peace and quiet and a wide variety of flowers and plants.
Here you can eat your breakfast and make use of the tables and chairs.

Walking and hiking routes abound around Puntagorda village.
From the roof-terrace you can enjoy a wide view over Puntagorda village, the surrounding area, the mountains and the Atlantic Ocean.
Scenic views of the northern side of the caldera de Taburiente, looking up towards the Roque de Los Muchachos   Relax in a hammock in the shade.
On the roof-terrace you can sunbathe undisturbed or enjoy the shadow. In the evenings you van enjoy the breathtaking views of the stars.
 
The village of Puntagorda is small, quiet and friendly. From the pension it's just a couple of minutes walk to the shops, bank, post-office dispensing chemist, bars and a restaurant. The second village centre is ± 15 minutes walk where you will find more shops a restaurant and health-food shop.
On Saturdays and Sundays there is a market in the Mercadillo opposite the nature and recreation area El Fayal.
The Puntagorda area is a protected nature area. In January and February the thousands of almond trees are in full bloom.
There are many walking paths in the hills above Puntagorda and in the coastal cliff areas below the village. When the sea is calm enough you can swim in a small sea-water pool at Puntagorda Puerto. It can be reached via 462 steps (we counted) and during the climb back up you can stop to take in the breathtaking views along the rocky west coast of La Palma. The nearest sandy beaches are in Tazacorte and Puerto Naos about 35 to 50 minutes drive.
